At Brighte we understand that there are unexpected life events or unforeseen changes that can happen, making it difficult to meet your repayments.
What is financial hardship?
Financial hardship occurs when a customer has the intention of paying but is unable to meet their Brighte repayment obligations. Through formal hardship assistance, a customer is expected to be able to recover from their financial difficulty. Many people find themselves in financial hardship at some point in their lives, and the incidence of financial hardship is more common than people think.
We realise that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can impact a customer’s ability to pay their ongoing obligations. A few of the most common instances that can affect a customer’s ability to pay include:
Income or expenditure changes;
The loss of a job or a reduction in working hours;
A significant life event, such as the loss of a loved one or the breakdown of a relationship;
Injury or illness; or
Natural disasters or emergency events
Customers often overcome financial hardship and repay their debts with time if they give it a chance.
