How will participants be selected?

Priority will be given to households replacing eligible gas appliances with efficient electric alternatives.

To ensure the Pilot reflects a diverse range of households, participants will be selected based on factors including:

• Building type
• Household income
• Home ownership status (renters, landlords, owner-occupiers)
• Current appliance configuration
• Existing rooftop solar (or willingness to install it)

The selection process is not based on a "first come, first served" approach. Households will be carefully chosen to ensure the research represents the broader community. Special places will be reserved for low-income households, with higher subsidies available for them.
